A grand opening and open house were held at the new Chamber and Visitor Center in Upshur County Thursday afternoon.
The new space is located on 14 East Main Street and will be home to the Upshur County CVB and the Buckhannon Upshur Chamber of Commerce.
The new location is much more visible to the public and creates an atmosphere for staff to engage visitors.
"Amazing time for Buckhannon because we're on Main Street, we're getting foot traffic, we're getting to interact with people coming into our area, and visiting or residents of our area wanting more information about things to do. It's really fun and it's a big deal for us," said Laura Meadows, of the Upshur County CVB.
The building the center is located in dates back to 1892. The re-purposed space features the original floors from the former G-C Murphy Five and Dime.
