United Hospital Center in Bridgeport celebrated the state's birthday Thursday.
The UHC Auxiliary and Cancer Center teamed up to provide a birthday celebration.
Guests enjoyed a cake and cupcakes supplied by the hospital.
The West Virginia Humanities Council exhibit "Born in Rebellion," discussing West Virginia's path to statehood was also on display at the hospital.
The exhibit also offers a unique way to teach people more about the decision to make West Virginia its own state.
"And then you can decide for yourself if you had lived back then, whether you would have voted for West Virginia to become a state, or for it not to become a state. And it gives you really different viewpoints there, and it gives you a lot to think about," said Ida Diem, of the UHC Auxiliary.
The hospital also featured a different local artisan practicing their craft each day while the exhibit was there.
