The West Virginia Sierra Club hosted its annual Ice Cream Social Thursday.
The homemade ice cream and dinner potluck social is in its 28th year and is open to families of members and non-members alike.
"It's an opportunity to get new people to come out and enjoy the outdoors as well as to acquaint people with some of the natural beauty that occurs there. It's also a good time for old timers to get together and just sort of socialize," said Jim Kotcon, of the W.Va. Sierra Club.
The Sierra Club's Ice Cream Social started at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pavilion near the Coopers Rock overlook.
