The fifth annual Taste of Morgantown brings residents out to try different restaurants from the area, all in one place while benefiting the American Red Cross.
"It's just really a great way to bring out a lot of different community members that would support these restaurants at the restaurants, but here you get to see them all in one place," said Shauna Soom with the American Red Cross.
The Taste of Morgantown is the only public fundraiser the American Red Cross does all year and while it gets all the proceeds, the restaurants benefit as well.
"I think this gives everybody here a really good overview of the local culinary scene, you can try a little something from every restaurant here. And you're helping out charity, what could be nicer than that," said Marion Ohlinger with the Richwood Grill.
There were more than 20 food and beverage vendors at the event on Wednesday. Ohlinger's table served cheese 15 ways.
"This is Green Glaze Creamery's basic fromage, it's the base cheese they make all their other cheeses out of, and we have flavored it 15 different ways," said Ohlinger.
Three judges tried every dish, and chose winners in five different categories including best dessert and best presentation.
The guests also got to vote for the people's choice award. Julie Mills was a first time guest at the Taste of Morgantown and said she really liked trying all the different restaurants.
"The food has been wonderful, there's new restaurants in town that we have been looking forward to trying and its just been a great opportunity to try out new things," Mills said.
Mills said it was nice to have some food with friends, while supporting a good cause.
