The authorities in Barbour County recovered another abandoned dog this weekend.
The folks at Animal Friends of Barbour County call her Queenie.
The Belington police found her in a ditch along Locust Street.
Animal Friends said Queenie was severely malnourished when she was brought in and may suffer from organ failure.
It's encouraging pet owners to reach out to their local shelters if they can't care for their pets.
"In this day and age, we've had people in such economic distress that they can't take care of their animals, but they should know that they can call us or call the county shelter if they do need to surrender a dog," said Carol Talbot, of the Animal Friends of Barbour County.
If you have any information on where Queenie came from, contact the Belington Police Department at 304-823-1234.
