The Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg has nearly doubled its mental healthcare staff to accommodate more veterans in the area, and to meet President Obama's Executive Order to Improve Access to Mental Health Services for Veterans.
The hospital provides inpatient, outpatient and residential programs. It said they're necessary to prevent dangerous thoughts and actions.
"There was great concern about how we can care for these veterans and to prevent this increase in suicide and suicide risk," said Joel Vogt, of the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.
The Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg now has about 20 mental health care providers.
