Students at Glenville State College are doing their own research this summer as part of NASA's Space Grant Consortium.
The grant provides college students the opportunity to do research in any field that may be relevant to NASA's studies.
Glenville students are working on projects in fields including biology, chemistry and psychology.
Professors said this kind of work can't be easily done in class.
"In research, they're now trying to do a new project, we don't know the answers about them, they won't guarantee they're going to work, and so students get the experience of finding out what does and doesn't work. They'll learn far more doing research than they will ever in a classroom," said Kevin Evans, Glenville State College professor of Chemistry.
Students will be on campus for six weeks this summer while they complete their research.
