The Manahan Group
Lori Chenoweth's career path has led her from a marketing job at a Switzerland hostel to her current job as an account manager at The Manahan Group.
Chenoweth, 30, graduated from Marshall University with a degree in industrial organizational psychology and a minor in marketing.
Shortly after graduation, she moved to Switzerland, where she stayed for seven months. There she worked at her best friend's hostel, where she traveled to neighboring countries and promoted the hostel.
"Here, I learned a lot about promotion in general. At my current job, I sell products and services, while there, it was selling the hostel and promoting that in general," she said.
Chenoweth started working at her current employer in 2009, when it was originally The Phillips Group. This group later merged with The Manahan Group.
"My favorite part of my job is probably just making sure our business is generating creative and appropriate messages, our business is staying in budget and making sure things are reasonably priced. We want to make sure our clients are getting their needs met strategically, while staying in our budget."
Although she leads a busy life, when Chenoweth does have free time, she likes to spend it with family. Whether she's playing with her 2-year-old son Wyatt or tending her family's garden, Chenoweth says when she's home, she leaves work at the doorstep.
"I'm really just new to it all," she said. "My son is only 2 years old and I equate my life balance to having a child now. When I'm at work, it's all work. I try to leave life at the door. As long as he's awake, then it's all with him and my husband."
Chenoweth said she has learned to not only look at today and tomorrow but to look at the long-term goals.
"There's always potential for growth and to grow your skills with your company," she said. "I never would have imagined four years ago that I would be where I am today."
