Almost every city in West Virginia has its staple restaurants. These are the places where everyone goes to eat, catch up, and just hang out.
In Weston, it's Giovanni's Restaurant.
"We just try to cater to the locals," said Timothy Hamrick, co-owner. "Whatever they want, we try to do."
That philosophy is working for Giovanni's. It has attracted some very loyal customers over the past 50 years.
"It's good food," said Pat Turner, customer. "I've been a customer to these people for more then 15 years."
Carolyn Strum agrees.
"We know everybody," she said. "We come in and they have our coffee on the table before we sit down."
It's a Lewis County favorite and it doesn't just limit itself to one type of food.
"Calzones, pizzas, we do steaks, baby back ribs, prime rib," Hamrick said. "We do about anything really."
But its biggest seller?
"If I could eat anything I wanted to, I'd recommend the Giovanni Special," Strum said.
Hamrick calls it his repeat seller.
"It's a square steak patty, grilled, toasted bread, oliverio peppers and cheese," Hamrick said.
It's a place to watch sports, hold a business meeting, and catch up with friends.
"It's just very homey. I like that. It's secure," said Turner.
Giovanni's Restaurant is open every day except Mondays, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is located on Route. 33 in Weston.
