West Fairmont Middle School recently held a school-wide Red Cross Drive to see which homeroom could raise the most supplies for disaster victims.
Students brought in food and various toiletries.
Miss Jones fifth grade class won the competition by bringing in more than 400 supplies.
The supplies will go to disaster victims in North Central West Virginia.
"Well, I think its wonderful that they started at this age and maybe when they are 18 they can join the Red Cross," said Janet Chittum, Red Cross Volunteer, "We always need volunteers."
The school donated more than one thousand items.
