The Blue Moose Cafe is known for its great coffee and eclectic atmosphere, and at breakfast time the crowd always enjoys the unique twists on traditional favorites.
"I like to serve people the kind of food that I like to eat," said owner Gary Tannenbaum.
For those who enjoy a little kick to their taste buds in the morning, there's the Southwest Chipotle Omelet.
Cook Shelby Schwab walks us through the process in the kitchen, starting with four to five eggs as a base.
"They're huge omelets, but we want to make sure that everybody get's their money's worth," she said.
When the eggs firm up, Schwab adds yellow and white cheddar, then the chipotle mix and lets it all cook together for a minute or so before serving it up with home fries and toast.
The flavor really hits you right away and it tastes delicious. There's a kick from the peppers, but it doesn't seem like too much to me.
"It'll wake up your taste buds," Tannenbaum said.
Photographer Chris Marrs and I cleaned our plates, and wouldn't mind coming back for more.
You can visit the Blue Moose Cafe on Spruce Street in Morgantown, near the Public Safety Building. They open at 7 a.m. during the week, and 8 a.m. on the weekends.
