Students Against Destructive Decisions, or SADD, staged a mock crash exercise Thursday at Buckhannon-Upshur High School to show students what happen when people drink and drive, or don't wear their seat belts, or make other destructive decisions behind the wheel.
Firefighters, law enforcement, and EMS personnel were there to make the exercise as realistic as possible.
"It was hitting home to them that it could be anyone of them, and I think once of one of them is covered up in a sheet, one will die, and some will go flying out in a helicopter. It will it home to them that it could happen, it has happen in our community," said Vickey Casto, SADD.
The school has been doing Prom Promise activities all this week and students could win prizes if they sign up to not drink and drive during prom season.
