West Virginia will celebrate its 150th birthday this year and communities across the state are finding ways to celebrate.
Harrison County will start at noon Friday with a ceremony at the courthouse, honoring one of Clarksburg's favorite sons.
"Be honoring the anniversary of Stonewall Jackson's death. He is a native son and an important figure in the civil war. We will have a rededication of the statue," said M.L. Quinn, of the Harrison County Commission Special Projects.
Celebrations also are planned for June 8 at the Waldomore in Clarksburg to celebrate the dance, music, and film of West Virginia.
