Harrison County mayors got together for their bi-monthly Mayors Association Meeting Wednesday evening to discuss what is going on in their towns.
Local lawmakers also were on hand to talk about their accomplishments in the 2013 legislative session. Bridgeport Mayor James Christie said the legislature expanded Home Rule to include 16 cities.
Christie said the Home Rule program will allow small cities and towns to take care of their own issues.
"I think it's good, and there are some restrictions they put on it. So there is some things they can't do by way of the new legislation, but overall, I think it's very good. It doesn't affect, the restrictions don't affect the city of Bridgeport," said Christie.
The Mayors Association will meet again in September.
