The Glenville Police Department has arrested a Glenville State College student and charged him with operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory.

Around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police pulled over a white Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Conner Smith, 20, for driving left of the center line on Mineral Road. Police noticed that Smith was acting nervous and he admitted that he had marijuana pipes that he had used to smoke marijuana in the car, according to the criminal complaint.

While the officer was looking for the pipes, he discovered a can of starter fluid, Advil Flu and Body Ache containing pseudoephedrine, Zippo butane fuel, and a ziplock bag containing what appeared to be crushed up pills, according to the criminal complaint.

The officer believed that the items were ingredients used to make meth and asked Smith to open the trunk of his car. According to the criminal complaint, the officer found a green plastic bag containing pipe cutters, a jar full of white powder with lithium strips in it that tested positive for traces of meth, a bottle of lighter fluid, aluminum foil tubing, a cold pack busted open, and a bag of salt.

Smith is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $150,000.
