West Virginia State Police have identified the man who drowned in the Tygart Valley River last Wednesday.
Robert Horner III, 22, of Belington was found floating in the river, according to state police.
The investigation is ongoing.
West Virginia State Police is investigating the drowning of a man in the Tygart Valley River near Belington.
Crews responded to the area just before noon Wednesday after receiving a report about a body spotted floating in the water.
State police said it's not clear if the drowning is suspicious. The body was sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy. The man's body hadn't been in the river for very long, said state police.
Police hadn't received any information about the man being missing.
The Belington Police Department, Barbour County Sheriff's Department, Barbour County Medical Examiner's Office, Belington & Junior Fire Departments, and Belington EMS all responded to the scene.
