Four Tucker County Student-Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

A total of four student-athletes from Tucker County signed their Letters Of Intent on Wednesday afternoon.

Amber Evans will play basketball and Davis and Elkins, while her former teammate, Hunter Radford, will suit up for Garrett Community College in Western Maryland.

Both were extremely happy with their decisions.

"I love D&E. I love the campus. The coaches were very nice. I loved it all. I'm just excited to play there. I'm very excited," Evans said.

"They gave me the opportunity to play basketball and they have a good early childhood education program. I love to play basketball, so that's the main reason," Radford said.

Another pair of Tucker County student-athletes will run Cross Country at Davis and Elkins.

Ashley Cassidy and Nick Akins both decided on the Senators because of the close proximity to home.

They said D&E offers the perfect mix of everything they were looking for in a college.

"It seems like it's just like here," Akins said. "It's small and it's a nice place to be. People are nice to you, it's just pretty much the exact same thing like this. So I figured why not do the same thing for the next four years."

"Definitely the small classes and the atmosphere, which is really nice there. It's close to home. I really like the coaches too, so that makes it nice," Cassidy said.
