On Monday evening, teens held a panel discussion about the problem of underage drinking in Harrison County at the 4-H Center.
They discussed their views on underage drinking and the effects it can have on their lives. The teens hoped to educate the community on the issue of underage drinking and give parents an idea of what they should look for.
"They just need to tell them no drinking, and if they do mess up and drink, no driving period," said Steven Johnson, sheriff chief deputy in Harrison County.
"There are a lot of bad effects that can happen from it. Lives can be lost and ruined, and it affects more people than just you when you drink underage and if you make a bad decision," said Marissa Bailey, a student at Robert C. Byrd high school.
The next Harrison County Prevention Partnership Coalition meeting will be May 21 at the FRN office in Clarksburg.
