It's a tough time for many volunteer organizations across the country.
The economic crunch is making it harder for them to keep up with their work, and our area is no exception.
The Lewis County Fair Association is facing some funding difficulties of its own.
Representatives asked the Lewis County Commission for some help in funding to keep the fair going this year.
The fair has lost some of its corporate sponsors since last year and organizers are having a hard time making up the difference.
They have been reaching out to the community for help as well, and said that support is equally important.
"Without the support of the local people and the local businesses, it's going to be hard for it to carry on," said Randall Bush, of the Lewis County Fair Association.
