One of the nation's leading experts on juvenile homicide and violence worked with law enforcement officers in Morgantown Thursday.
Phil Chalmers was at the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department teaching about the signs of teen violence and preventing it.
Chalmers said parents need to know the warning signs, like obsessions with violent media, weapons, and threats.
"Today's teen killers look innocent, harmless, it's the biggest message I give to adults and teenagers is that we don't know what killers look like, we'd be surprised. Not only do they not look dangerous, they're getting younger, we see killers as young as 12 now," Chalmer said.
Chalmers also speaks at schools and has had various TV shows.
