Your mother may have told you nobody was perfect. But she never met D'Andra Swiger.

"I've been injured my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I wanted to come out and do something special my senior year, so this is how I'm doing it," Swiger said.

Not quite perfect, Swiger has still won 23 of 24 events this year. She has been the high-point winner in each meet, becoming a dominating figure in a sport she's just now learning to love.

"I didn't really like it my freshman and sophomore year," Swiger admitted, "but now that I'm winning, you kind of learn to love it."

The Doddridge County girls team is highly decorated having won 10 state championships. Swiger is becoming one of the best Track and Field athletes the Bulldogs have seen.

She said it all comes down to a strong work ethic instilled in her by Head Coach Craig Kellar. She said it's the key to her success.

"I feel like I try to use it everywhere as in school work, never let down, and do my thing," Swiger said.

Swiger's hard work is paying off. She has grabbed the eye of nearby schools interested in her 200 meter dash times and high jumps.

Coach Kellar said the team is buying in; producing a successful year.

"The older kids have always bought in, and take it seriously. I think it's that they've had success so they're more willing to do what they're supposed to. But they've been fun to coach," Kellar said.
