Concrete Canoe Team at FSU Wins 10th Consecutive Regional Competition

Fairmont State celebrated a group of student athletes Tuesday.

Fairmont State University's Concrete Canoe Team has returned home with yet another victory in the regional concrete canoe competition.

This marks the 10th consecutive regional victory for the university.

The team is made up of engineering students in the American Society of Civil Engineers Student Chapter.

The team competed against 13 other schools in Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

"We actually take our canoes and race them. There is various races that we have. There is three races. There is a men's sprint, females sprint. It's a 200 meter course and there is a 600 meter endurance," said Brandon Bartlett, Fairmont State junior.
