Local businesses spoke with job seekers at the second annual "Experience the Trades" Apprenticeship Expo in Monongalia County.
Generally Apprenticeship programs teach trades on the job and help employees improve their education.
On Wednesday, about 10 businesses were on hand and organizers hope job seekers took advantage of their advice.
"It's a great way for them to get on the job training, so they can work, and get paid and still go to school in the evenings and then come out with that highly skilled trade behind them," said Ginny Layton, of the Region VI Workforce Investment Board.
The expo was held at the Mylan Park Expo Center.
