Secretary of State Natalie Tennant returned to her high school alma mater Wednesday to meet with Marion County's youth leadership program.
The Youth Leadership Program is includes students from North Marion, East Fairmont, and Fairmont Senior High Schools.
The program brings the students together to discuss civic duty and community involvement.
Tennant said it's important to let the students know that her starting point was the same as theirs.
"You use the opportunities that you have. Some have better opportunities then others. But what was given to me and placed at me at North Marion High School, I used to the best of my ability," Tennant said.
Tennant's comments touched on youth leadership and her position in government.
