One of Taylor County's oldest bridges will become history beginning in fall of 2014.
The state has proposed a project to replace the Bridge Street Bridge in downtown Grafton.
The $6 million project could take two years to complete.
City Manager Kevin Stead said engineers are working on the final layout and it will be complete by the end of the summer.
"The division of highways has worked very closely with us in the replacement of the bridge. The location, the design, all the way down to, they are willing to install similar lights to what we have on Main Street," Stead said.
The old bridge will still be in use while the new bridge is being constructed.
