Prom is usually about glitz and glam but not everyone can afford it.
Christian Help and Americorps think everyone should have the chance to go to the big dance.
The annual Prom Chic Boutique will be this Friday and Saturday.
The event provides young ladies heading to prom with free dresses and makeup and suits for the boys.
"I think it's a really nice thing to do for high schoolers. I really wish I had something like this in high school," said Stephanie Shepherd, the operator of the Career Closet at Christian Help. "There's no financial restrictions, you can get a beautiful dress for absolutely free."
Several local businesses including Coni and Franc, Lavish Boutique, and Classic Bridal donated dresses to Christian Help for the event.
Spots are filling up quickly. If you'd like to make an appointment call Shepherd at 304-296-0221.
