April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. In honor of this, pinwheels can be found in front of all the libraries in Harrison County.
"Partners in Prevention" teamed up with the Harrison County Child Advocacy Center to place the pinwheels and spread a message.
The pinwheels represent a bright future for children who have been abused.
"Pinwheels are a little different twist on things, a bright future whirlwind. It's to spread a positive message and to make the community aware of child abuse prevention," said Shelly Giaquinto, executive director of the Harrison County Child Advocacy Center.
Giaquinto said all of the libraries have coloring pages and pinwheels available for kids.
Partners in Prevention went though six boxes of pinwheels, with 200 in each box.
Also in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the town of Nutter Fort teamed up with the Genesis Youth Crisis Center to raise a flag for the month.
A proclamation was made by Nutter Fort Mayor Nathan Rohrbough, and a flag was raised at city hall.
The flag will be flown for the rest of April.
