A local college is reporting a record-setting year for admissions and said there may be more to come.
Alderson-Broaddus College said it has received more than 4,500 applications for the upcoming fall semester.
That's a thousand applications more than this time last year.
Last year's class set records as well with the college's largest ever incoming class.
"We're looking to bring in a class of about 450 students," said Zachary Ward, of Alderson-Broaddus College. "Last year our record class was just over 400, so we're looking to go a little bit above that, and based on the numbers now, we're definitely on track to go to that or surpass it."
Alderson-Broaddus College said it hopes to grow up to 1,200 students over the next few years while maintaining its focus on the individual attention those students will receive.
