If you cast your ballot on Election Day, there’s a strong chance are you did it in a school or other public building. Schools and churches in the Mountain State are the most common locations for setting up polling places. And it’s been that way for a long time.

The House of Delegates unanimously passed "Skylar's Law," a bill that would expand the state's current Amber Alert Program, March 27.

Lawmakers stood a while in the House chamber before the vote to show their support for the measure.

The bill includes a statement that Amber Alerts have been in West Virginia for the past 10 years, and they help to recover abducted children as well as serving as a deterrent for those types of crimes.

The bill would require law enforcement to report possible abductions in the early stages of their investigations.

Skylar Neese, 16, was found dead in Wayne Township, Pa. Jan. 16. She was reported missing from Star City by her parents in July of 2012. She was regarded as a runaway, rather than a missing person.

The bill will go now to the Senate for debate.
