Celebrate spring break at the Clay Center

Posted: Updated:

Kids of all ages can make the most of spring break with a series of art activities at the Clay Center from noon – 4 p.m. April 3 – 6.

The schedule of spring break activities includes:

April 3, Rabbit masks – Hop into spring with your own cute creation.

April 4, Wind socks – Get ready for warm weather with outdoor décor.

April 5, Recycled bead bracelets – Use magazines and yarn to make a unique piece of jewelry.

April 6, Collage hats – Express yourself with one-of-a-kind wearable art.

While at the Center, put on your hard hat and construction vest and explore the concepts of design, motion and simple machines in "Little Builders," the latest traveling exhibit in the Mylan Explore-atory. Then, journey through the galaxy in the planetarium show "The Planets," and plunge 12,000 feet underwater in the giant screen film "Volcanoes of the Deep Sea." Plus, catch an amazing exhibit in the art gallery as the Clay Center celebrates American printmaking with "Tamarind Touchstones: Fabulous at Fifty, Celebrating Excellence in Fine Art Lithography."

The Clay Center will be closed all day March 31 for the Easter holiday.

Spring break activities are included in gallery admission, which is free for Clay Center museum members or $6 for children and $7.50 for adults.
