Marion County Commission Signs 211 Program Resolution

Posted: Updated:

West Virginia 211 is a statewide program that connects people with important community services, disaster information and volunteer opportunities.

The Marion County Commission signed a resolution on Wednesday that will provide $100,000 toward the 211 program in Marion County.

The Marion County 911 Center has been receiving numerous calls asking for information on the community services.

"The 911 center is now taking the bulk of those calls when people need help and they don't know who turn to. For whatever their personal or family problems might be, they can now call 211 and they will have a whole list of agencies that they can contact for help," said Randy Elliot, of the Marion County Commission.
