Mayors are busy people and don't often get the chance to talk about things that only another mayor would understand.
The Marion County Development Authority hosted a meeting for every mayor in the county Tuesday night to discuss the challenges and opportunities in their 11 respective municipalities.
A common subject for many of the mayors was the hundreds of dilapidated buildings in the county.
"One of the biggest problems is people buying structures for taxes purposes and so on and then sitting them and not doing anything. They are a danger. They are a blight on the community. I don't know what the solution is here because it's going to cost a lot of money," said Charlie Reese, of the Development Authority.
The Development Authority said it will send out a questionnaire to the mayors to get their opinions on the group meeting.
If the response is positive it will schedule similar meetings in the future.
