Residents of Ireland, West Virginia gathered on Sunday for the start of the 32nd Annual Irish Spring Festival.
The event started with a flag-raising and singing.
Organizer Sandy King said the event is successful every year because of the community that takes a part in putting it together.
"I think everybody works together really well. And it's the first thing after winter where we hit the spring, everybody is so anxious to get out," King said.
The festival closes with a declaration of spring at the exact time the season changes from the town's local Blarney Stone.
This year, that falls on March 20th just after 7 a.m.
