Some Barbour County families that can't afford to buy the food they need may get some help to grow it.
The North Central West Virginia Community Action Association is taking applications for its home gardening program.
The program provides a voucher so lower-income families can buy the seeds and supplies they'll need to grow their own nutritious foods.
Applications are available at the association's office on Route 2 in Philippi.
