According to "Afterschool Alliance" more than 15 million children are alone and unsupervised after school.
Nearly nine million children participate in after school programs.
One of the more popular activities is Cub Scouts.
Cub Scout Pack 11 meets every Tuesday night at the Central Methodist Church in Barrackville.
The kids listen to guest speakers, do outdoor activities, and even have taken a CPR course.
One of our reporters went to talk to a recent meeting to talk about her job and learned what being a cub scout is all about.
"We do various things through out the community. We've done tours of the fire stations, we've done geocashing, various interviewing, have various speakers come in. Hopefully when the weather breaks, we'll be able to go camping," said Richard Straight, Cub Master.
Pack 11 said it's always looking for new members from the first through sixth grades.
