The Cat in the Hat made a special visit to students at Nutter Fort Primary Friday morning.
The School combined Read Across America Day with Dr. Seuss Day.
Students read books, listened to guest readers and even made green eggs and ham.
Faculty and staff wore the traditional red and white striped hats.
Principal Joann Gilbert said students can learn to read with both books and new technology.
"I read the books in hard copy and now we are showing them on the wide screen TV for the students and they're just loving it because they can be more engaged in the book actually if we want to say go up and point to something, they can actually go up and touch the Cat in the Hat if they'd like to on the big screen TV," Gilbert said.
Kindergarten students received free books today sponsored by the Early Childhood Education program.
