Faculty and staff at Washington Irving Middle School, as well as concerned citizens, have drafted and signed a statement in support of the school's assistant principal, Brian Hage, who was arrested after an altercation with a student Monday.
Clarksburg Police arrested Hage, 40, of Grafton, and charged him with child abuse or neglect creating risk of injury.
On Thursday, members of the school's faculty and staff, along with concerned citizens, drafted a statement in support of Hage.
The statement begins by saying "the faculty of Washington Irving Middle School unquestionably supports Mr. Brian Scott Hage in his actions to safely remove and restrain defiant students."
More than 60 people signed the statement.
