The Clarksburg Fire Department is one of 10 organizations to receive grant money from the West Virginia Homeland Security State Administrative Agency.
It will use the $54,000-plus grant to maintain the Hazmat "weapons of mass destruction" truck.
The fire department uses the truck primarily in Clarksburg and Harrison County but it's available elsewhere if needed.
It was recently used at a train wreck.
"Someone spills five gallons of gasoline or recently we had the train that derailed we had a lot of what we call absorbents that were off of it where there were pig pads, monkey socks, some of the other materials that we have just to absorb a lot of the material that was going into the ground," said Captain Cindy Murphy, of the Clarksburg Police Department.
The fire department said it needs the money to offset maintenance and upgrade costs.
