Kids in Upshur County soon will participate in a program that explores local government.
The Buckhannon Upshur Youth Leadership Institute of Governmental Affairs was at Upshur County Commission on Thursday to talk about the second annual event.
Kids ages 15 and up will spend seven weeks getting hands on experience on how local government works.
"If we can get these youth the experience and where with all to talk to these folks, and start a dialogue, perhaps we can do a lot more together between the two," said Richard Edwards.
Classes will start March 6 and run for seven weeks.
