The city of Clarksburg is looking into upgrading its wastewater treatment system
Clarksburg is working with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection on an $11.5 million loan.
The new system would allow the plant to treat more water every day.
"To enable us to treat more gallons per day and currently we're at 12 million gallons per day and we'd like to take it to 18 million gallons per day. And also we would do some infrastructure improvements to the interceptor line that comes into the plant," said Martin Howe, Clarksburg City Manager.
Construction could start as early as this fall.
It will take about one and a half years to complete.
