Valentine's Day may have come to an end but Morgantown residents showed their love in style. Some bought cupcakes and flowers for their sweethearts.
Jeremy Spear decided to purchase cupcakes for his girlfriend for Valentine's Day. He said that cupcakes are something they can both enjoy and it saves money for bigger events.
"Her birthday is only a few days after that," said Spear. "I think cupcakes are great for Valentine's Day and maybe more of the jewelry for the birthday afterwards."
Janet Williams is a co-owner of the "Cupcakerie" and says many people thought like Spear this year. It took a lot of organization to handle the orders from everywhere, even out of the country.
"Answering the phone, answering emails, we've talked to parents of WVU students from internationally, in several states all across the United States from California to Beckley," said Williams. "They can't be with their WVU students and are happy to do something for them and we deliver to dorms or apartments."
Cupcakes were just one of many gifts available to purchase in Morgantown.
The Wow Factory held a Date Night that involved couples, and anyone who wanted to attend, to create their own gifts.
Elise Hauser came with her husband after receiving a gift from her children from the Wow Factory. She said the people were helpful, especially for a first time visit.
"I'm just enjoying the different projects," said Hauser. "It's not often you see men and women, couples, doing projects like this together and everyone seems to be having a really good time."
Guests of the Wow Factory took their creations home but most couples said they enjoyed the conversation and company the most.
