Woodlands Community Lenders is offering a new loan-grant combination for downtown buildings and businesses.
It said the program will alleviate the high costs of design and construction for new or existing businesses.
Business owners are eligible for up grants up to $4,000, and loans up to $100,000 for building rehab or façade improvements.
Woodlands said it wants to invest in a stronger future for North Central West Virginia.
"We want to help revitalize our downtowns and our area so we can fill the vacancies in our storefronts and help bring housing to the downtowns so that the businesses that reside there have customers right at their doorstep.," said Marti Neustadt, WCL program developer.
Cities in Barbour, Randolph, and Tucker counties are the initial participating communities.
