A Clarksburg woman will be taking the city's energy concerns to Congress.
Council member Margaret Bailey has been appointed to the National League of Cities, Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Advocacy Committee.
Bailey will travel to Washington DC in March to join other city leaders from around the country.
She said it's an excellent opportunity for the citizens of Clarksburg to have their voices heard on a National level.
"I don't think in a time in history has a topic been of more concern not only in Clarksburg to West Virginia but to everybody across the Unites States and I will be able to have input in trying to help form policy with this committee that will be submitted to congress for their consideration," Bailey said.
Bailey said the committee will hold meetings throughout the year.
