Cub Scout Pack 44 out of Star City held their pinewood derby races Saturday.
The races were at the Mountaineer Mall in Morgantown. More than 41 racers came out after four months of preparations.
"They get a block of pinewood, they get four nails as axels and then they get four wheels. That's it. And they came up with the most creative designs," said Marty Dombrowsky, the Pack 44 Cub Scout Master. "They had a lot of work with their parents their grandparents, anybody that would help them cut their cars and put their designs together. Today's all about good sportsmanship and competition."
Everyone at the races received a prize. Everything from fastest car to best design was awarded.
