More than two dozen elected officials gathered in Bridgeport Thursday to talk about issues related to the oil and natural gas industry.
Organizers assembled a panel of experts on the subject including Dennis Xander, president of the Independent Oil and Gas Association.
Xander said West Virginia will benefit from the growing oil and as industry.
"We're on the verge of profound prosperity from the oil and gas industry in West Virginia. You're going to see increases in jobs, increases in taxes, increases in employment. It's going to be good for everybody," Xander said.
The panel discussion was followed by a question and answer session.
