While you're protecting yourself from the cold with coats, gloves, and scarves it's important to remember to keep your electronics safe, too.
AT&T Wireless said exposing your devices to extreme temperatures can drain your battery, crack your screen, and cause permanent damage.
It said you can protect your phone by keeping it on your person and out of the car and keeping it dry and in a case.
"If your phone is extremely cold it's really good it leave it out in the heat, obviously at room temperature, to let your device heat up a little bit before you turn it on. That can help eliminate the build up of condensation," said Dawn Pride, of AT&T Wireless.
AT&T said Bluetooth headsets also are useful.
They allow you to use your phone while keeping it and hands warm.
