Martin Luther King, Jr. Remembrance Day Held in Elkins

A Martin Luther King, Jr. remembrance day was held in Elkins on Sunday.

The events included a march down 4th Street, performances, and posters filling the Old Brick Playhouse.

Some of the organizers spoke about keeping the dream alive.

"If you don't know where you come from its hard to know where you're going. It's very important to work together as a nation and as a community, to work toward common goals, unity and work together. It's the only way we're going to do it. It's the only way," said Alice-Gervais Sabatino, organizer of the event.

Another said how important Dr. King, and his dream were.

"He was a trailblazer. It's very important that we keep working towards keeping the dream alive and really making the dream a reality. Because as long as it's still a dream, we haven't completed it yet," said Laurie Goux, organizer of the performance.

This was the 13th year for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Remembrance in Elkins.
