Some Fairmont residents are working to improve the Southside community.
Southside runs from the Spanky Roberts Bridge to Fourth Street and from Virginia Avenue to Albert Court.
The Southside Committee said it has an attachment to the area and wants to see it improved.
The Division of Highways is discussing adding a new bridge to the neighborhood.
"There's a bridge at Fourth Street and it's in very dangerous condition and it needs to be replaced. That change has already been initiated," said Bob Gribben, of the Southside Committee.
The bridge will be relocated from Fourth Street to Third Street.
A meeting is being held now at the Women's Club in Fairmont to address the issue.
