At its meeting Monday night, the Marion County Board of Education approved a payment of more than $80,000 to city construction for renovations to Fairmont Senior High School.
Superintendent Gary Price said he thinks the students at Fairmont Senior High School, who have endured months of construction, are ready for it to come to an end. Price said the students are looking forward without all the noise of construction.
"It's made it a nicer facility. It has, at times, made it a little inconvenient because we've had to move classrooms or close off certain areas of the building. So I think that everybody will be glad to get it all wrapped up and finished," said Price.
The board also discussed the need and placement of prevention resource officers in the Marion County schools to keep students and staff members safe.
