The Upshur County Regional Airport is developing a long range plan that includes a runway expansion and new hangar facilities.
The master plan allows the airport authority and the airport itself to look at where it will be in 20 years.
The plan is broken into five-year segments, and what impacts would be needed in changes and planning for those changes.
The airport authority said it's seen significant growth over the years both in needs of hangar space and the types and sizes of aircraft.
The master plan includes a runway expansion with new taxiways, more hangar space for future maintenance companies, and aircraft to be protected from the elements.
"We have a unique airport in that it sits very high and very seldom fogged in so its almost available and I think its one reason Health Net is the there, and so it really adds an attraction to North Central West Virginia," said Rich Clemens, a member of the airport authority.
A public meeting will be held sometime late January or early February to go over the master plan.
The public is invited to offer input and ask questions.
